Executive Headteacher’s Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to our school website.

St Elizabeth Catholic Primary School is an inclusive and vibrant two-form entry primary school for ages 2 -11 years. Located in the multicultural London Boroughs of Tower Hamlets and on the border of vibrant Hackney we serve all communities. St Elizabeth are proud of our ‘family feel’ environment. Striving for high standards, we continually work to maintain a shared ethos of our 4 R’s – Resilience, Respect, Relationships and Responsibility, amongst our children, parents and staff. We offer high quality extended provision from 7.45am to 6.00pm each day. Ofsted has said we are a ‘Good’ school. I am also Executive Headteacher of our sister school Blessed Sacrament, in Islington, where we work closely to support each other.

At St Elizabeth, we encourage the boundless potential of every individual to achieve excellence. We seek to provide and nurture rich learning opportunities, which inspire progress, celebrate effort and challenge underachievement. We are relentless in our efforts to remove barriers to our children achieving and therefore we consider the well-being and empowerment of our children, as central to this aim. Our motto at St Elizabeth is ‘Inspiring and achieving lifelong learning in a welcoming Catholic community’ and our aim is for all pupils, staff and parents to recognise their own brilliance and be inspired by excellence around them.

Within our school community, every child is encouraged to build their self-esteem by discovering and developing their special gifts and talents. During current and future challenges, children’s mental health and wellbeing is woven throughout our pastoral programme and sits at the forefront of our school development plan as does our commitment to Equality Diversity and Inclusion. Our aim is to ensure our children have the best possible education and pastoral care so that they can remain happy, healthy and thrive socially, emotionally and physically.

Our curriculum and vision are broad, balanced, relevant and ‘future-focussed’. We seek to support our children in their journey as lifelong learners, through enriching exchanges and an environment that is attractive, stimulating, inspiring and values our rich and diverse community. We are proud of what we have achieved to this point as a ‘good’ school and continue to build on this sound foundation. I am very proud of our academic achievements, facilities, and creative curriculum, but most importantly, I am incredibly proud of our children with their positive attitudes towards learning, the way they take responsibility for their own learning and strive to do even better.

“Pupils are keen and show an enthusiasm for learning. Pupils have positive attitudes to their work and take pride in what they do. For example, work in pupils’ books shows they take great care with presentation and handwriting. The bright and colourful displays of pupils’ work around the school exemplify the care and attention that pupils show for their learning.” – Ofsted February 2017.

If you would like to learn more about our wonderful learning environment and see more of what we have to offer, please contact the school office. Our friendly staff will be delighted to greet and help you.

We look forward to you joining us on our journey.
