PE and Sports
Premium

At St Elizabeth Catholic Primary School, we are committed to promoting healthy, active lifestyles and ensuring that every pupil benefits from high-quality physical education, sport, and physical activity. Through the Primary PE and Sport Premium funding, we aim to enhance our provision so that all children develop confidence, skills, and a lifelong enjoyment of being active.

Our strategy focuses on improving the quality of teaching and learning in PE, broadening opportunities for pupils to participate in a wide range of activities, and increasing engagement in both curricular and extracurricular sport. This includes investing in staff training, upgrading equipment and resources, and working with specialist coaches and local sports organisations.

Key priorities include:

  • Strengthening PE teaching through staff professional development and high-quality resources.
  • Increasing opportunities for competitive sport, including both intra-school and inter-school competitions.
  • Expanding lunchtime and after-school clubs to allow pupils to experience a wider variety of sports.
  • Providing targeted support for less active and disadvantaged pupils to ensure all children can participate and succeed.
  • Promoting active lifestyles throughout the school day, including active playtimes and initiatives that support physical and mental wellbeing.

Through these initiatives, we aim to improve participation, build pupils’ skills and confidence, and foster a strong culture of physical activity across the school community.

Please read the Sports Premium report and policy to learn more about how this funding is used and the impact it has on our pupils.
